A new anime to stared from Jan/2022, based on a manga.
As the title suggests, it depicts the War of the Roses over the throne between the House of York, with its white rose crest, and the House of Lancaster, with its red rose crest.
The original manga is not based on historical facts, but rather on Shakespeare's plays about the same subject, "Henry VI (Parts 1-3)" and "Richard III.
In the plays, Richard III is said to be a cripple with skeletal abnormalities, but in this manga and anime, he is a hermaphrodite, and this is the key to the love and hate drama between the various men and women who appear in the anime.
The way the anime is made is very much unique, visuals and music make us feel as if we are watching a play.
The touch of the art is a bit like a girl's manga, but it doesn't bother me when I watch it.
