Animated from a popular manga, but this film is an original story not directly related to the 1st(25 episodes, Apr-Jun/Oct-Dec/2022) and 2nd (12 episodes, Oct-Dec/2023) seasons of the TV series.
The story is about a male spy agent, a female assassin, an espionage girl, and a dog with precognition abilities who pretend to have daily life as a family. They try their best to hide their true identities from each other in the world where the conflict between East and West is ongoing.
The production company WIT STUDIO ("Attack on Titan 1st season") and CloverWorks ("The Promised Neverland"), and composition Okouchi Ichiro("CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion": Screenplay & Composition) are unchanged from the TV series 2nd season, and Katagiri Takashi, assistant director of the TV series, is the director this time.
The voice cast also remains unchanged, with Eguchi Takuya("My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU":Hikigaya Hachiman), Tanezaki Atsumi("The Ancient Magus' Bride":Hatori Chise), Hayami Saori("The Irregular at Magic High School":Shiba Miyuki), Yoshino Hiroyuki("Haikyū!!":Iwaizumi Hajime), Kaida Yuko("The Promised Neverland":Isabella), Yamaji Kazuhiro("Attack on Titan":Kenny Ackerman), Ono Kensho("Kuroko's Basketball":Kuroko Tetsuya), Fujiwara Natsumi("GREAT PRETENDER":Abigail Jones), Kato Emiri("Lucky Star":Hiiragi Kagami ), Otsuka Akio("GHOST IN THE SHELL":Batô) and others.
Being an original story, the content of the film had to be worth watching without influencing the original manga/anime, but I think the content was interesting enough.
As in the TV series, the focus is on Anya, a girl who is an esper, rather than on the teen manga taste, and the taste that women and families can enjoy is further emphasized. The film is full of laughs, and at times, it is even heartwarming. The theater was also filled with children's laughter.
