A comedic depiction of a high school girl who tends to be a recluse, dreaming (or fantasizing) about being a rock band guitarist, and gradually getting closer to her dream when she meets her band mates.
Based on a four-frame manga by Hobunsha, it has similar roots to the music anime hit "K-ON!".
The story is based on the portrayal of a lone guitarist who has been in a closet all her life and has honed her guitar skills to the point of gaining recognition on the internet, but she has negative thoughts and awkward to show up in public. The psychological portrayal is like an abstract painting or sometimes like a frame-by-frame live-action film, making it a very elaborate work. The music is also very well described, with each part having a different sound, and the extremely good guitar playing scene (episodes 8 and 12) when main character Bocchi shows her best moments.
