Loundraw created the story and directed the film.
Loundraw has participated in anime movies such as "I want to eat your pancreas" "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish" and "Detective Conan".
The film is only 40 minutes long, but the story and art work are made nice and detailed.
As the title suggests, the story is about a ghost (voiced by Kawaei Rina) who appears in the summer, and three high school students (voiced by Kobayashi Chiaki, Shimabukuro Miyuri, and Shimazaki Nobunaga) who cannot feel the joy of life.
The characters have a drawing-like touch, and the background has an oil painting-like touch, giving it a very unique impression.
The colors are very soft, and there are no scenes with white light throughout the film, but rather orange light at dusk and blue light at night. Warm colors are used in scenes that remind us of life, and cold colors are used in scenes that remind us of death.
Despite the fact that the film deals with death, it leaves a very refreshing feeling.
One simple question, though, is why "Summer" Ghost was released in theaters in the middle of winter?
