This is the 41st Doraemon movie, and the remake version is since six years, in other words, it is a work made without creating a new original work.
Therefore, it was quite interesting to compare it with the previous film of 1985.
The basic line of the story remains unchanged: Nobita and his friends end the war between small humanoid creatures from the extraterrestrial planet Pirika, and the story revolves around Nobita's friendship with Papi, the young leader of the planet Pirika. Papi, who was intelligent and calm in 1985 version, is transformed into a kind-hearted and passionate character in this film, and Papi's sister appears in a supporting role.
In addition, as is typical of Doraemon movie, Gian's manly character is distinctive, and in "Nobita's Space Wars," Nobita is also set to be rather brave and dignified in the 1985 version. Therefore, in the 1985 version, all the characters unite and bravely face the enemy at the end of the story, but in this film, Suneo gives a good performance as a realistic character who is unable to muster up the courage to do so. Although this is a family-friendly film, the different emotions of the members are carefully depicted until the very end.
Furthermore, during the war scene in the latter half of the film, it is carefully explained that the characters did not kill their enemies due to the performance of their guns, and it is emphasized that the residents of Planet Pirika ultimately prevented a military coup by themselves, showing that the film does not forget to follow the current trend into consideration.
It was a very nice balanced film.
