A new anime starting in Apr/2021.
This is a spin-off anime work born in 2018, the 50th anniversary of the start of the series of "Ashita no Jô", the legendary manga written by Ikki Kajiwara and drawn by Tetsuya Chiba, and this is its second season.
Set in the near future in the Americas, where the gap between the rich and the poor is even greater than it is now, the story follows the exploits of an underground boxer who fights wearing a machine-reinforced brace, but this second season begins with the protagonist struggling with his mind and body after achieving glory, and the story takes a rather bleak tone for a few episodes. Overall, the slum scene is portrayed as a community of color, and the worldview seems to be a tribute to a part of modern society.
Production by TMS ENTERTAINMENT, director Yo Moriyama, voice actors Yoshimasa Hosoya ("In This Corner of the World", "The Anthem of the Heart") and Shirō Saitō ("Kingdom", "Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion") are unchanged.
This season, the sekaikan (world view), the touch of the pictures, and the human characters all have a very nostalgic taste that makes you feel as if you are watching a live action movie from few decades back.
