This is definitely one of the best anime movie I have ever seen.
The film is 107 minutes long and never boring, with a tempo that can only be achieved by a short film director, while maintaining the true essence of Shinkai Makoto, who is the best at depicting water and light.
Although the director definitely wanted to do the final scene, the previous 60 minutes, which was "foreshadowing" of the final scene, had plenty of highlights, and I think all the foreshadowing had probably been collected.
The theme song and all the songs in the film are sung by RADWIMPS, and the background music throughout the film has a sense of unity, giving the viewer the feeling of watching a suite of music clips.
The series of "Oh, so that's what it's all about" scenes and careful psychological portrayal of the characters will leave you with a fresh feeling, and you will want to watch it again and again. I could watch this movie several times with a fresh feeling.
