This anime is an adaptation of a light novel, serving as the 3rd season following the 1st (July to September 2017, 12 episodes) and the 2nd season (July to September 2022, 13 episodes).
Set in a fictional elite school in Tokyo, the story revolves around high school students with strong ambitions and competing for points within the school in a fierce battle. The setting of unique internal conflicts within the school is complemented by distinctive main characters. The protagonist, with exceptional abilities, has a reserved and somewhat cold personality, while the main heroines who don't have omnipotent characteristics and are portrayed as naive individuals burdened with dark pasts and complexes, making the storyline unpredictable.
In this third season, the focus seems to be on depicting the protagonist's life during the third semester of his first year in high school. Having watched the first two episodes, the psychological warfare among the already intriguing characters has begun, and the future developments are eagerly anticipated.
The production is handled by Lerche ("Assassination Classroom"), with director Nishoji Yoshihito (Director of "Seven Senses of the Reunion") remaining unchanged from the previous season. The composition is led by Kazano Hayato(Screenplay of "Killing Bites"), and starting from this season, Shigenobu Yasushi (Screenplay of "BORUTO") has also joined. The voice cast remains the same, featuring Chiba Shōya (as Shinei Nouzen in "86: Eighty-Six"), Hidaka Rina (as Milim in "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime"), Kito Akari (as Kamado Nezuko in "Demon Slayer"), Kubo Yurika (as Koizumi Hanayo in "Love Live!"), Taketatsu Ayana (as Nakano Azusa in "K-On!"), Osaka Ryota (as Sawamura Eijun in "Ace of Diamond"), Toyama Nao (as Yuigahama Yui in "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU"), Azakami Yosuke (as Kamiyama Seijuro in "Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation"), Mizunaka Masaki (as Diablo in "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord"), Takahashi Rie (as Megumin in "Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!"), Umehara Yuichiro (as Siegfried Kircheis in "Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These"), Saito Soma (as Moriarty William James in "Moriarty the Patriot"), and others.
