Animated based on a mobile game.
Literally, it anthropomorphizes Japanese racehorses, and this is the 3rd season following the 1st (Apr-Jun/2018 + Jan/2021, 16 episodes) and 2nd (Jan-Mar/2021, 13 episodes).
The 1st season ended with a depiction of the game SEKAIKAN(world view) with a racehorse Specialweek as the main character, while the 2nd season focused on a historical storyline with Tokaiteio and MejiroMcQueen as the main characters.
This 3rd season, the time period has moved on considerably, and it is still based on a historical story with Kitasan Black as the protagonist and Satono Diamond as the semi-protagonist.
The quality of the images and the development of the story, which is based on historical facts, are the highlights. I watched up to episodes 6-7, and was moved by the scene of Satono Diamond's victory in the Kikka-sho, the first G1 victory for the horse owner Satono family.
I am looking forward to the showdown between Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond in the second half of the season.
