This is the 2nd season animated from a popular manga series, following the 1st season(Oct/2020 - Mar/2021, 24 episodes) and anime movie(Dec/2021).
The original manga, which has already been published in 23 volumes, continues to be serialized, with vol.1-8 being depicted in the 1st season, and volume 0, the prequel, being depicted in the movie.
The subtitle of this 2nd season "Kaiyoku / Gyokusetsu" suggests that the anime adaptation will be based on managa vol.8-9.
The main line of the story is a dark fantasy about a group of sorcerers who exorcise evil spirits, and at the same time it depicts the bond between the young students who gather at a high school and their teachers. This 2nd season depicts the young days of the teacher Gojo Satoru and his best friend Geto Suguru who later gives up his career as a sorcerer and becomes a curse master.
Watched the 1st episode, and the characters' catchy interactions, horrifying evil spirits, and powerful battle scenes have been refined since the previous season, and we can't wait to see how Satoru and Suguru's friendship at the beginning of the story will change.
The production team of MAPPA and composition/screenplay Seko Hiroshi remain unchanged from the previous season, while the director has been changed from Park Sunghoo to Goshozono Shota. The voice casts are Nakamura Yuichi("The Irregular at Magic High School":Shiba Tatsuya), Sakurai Takahiro("CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion":Kururugi Suzaku), Endo Aya("Osomatsu san": totoko), Nagase Anna("Summer Time Rendering": Kofune Ushio), Koyasu Takehito("Gintama ":Takasugi Shinsuke), Shimizu Risa("Ushio & Tora": Kagari), Yasumoto Hiroki("Hozuki's Coolheadedness":Hozuki) and others.
