This anime adaptation of a popular dark fantasy based on a light novel recently completed its 4th season of 13 episodes, following the 1st (Jul-Sep/2015, 13 episodes), 2nd (Jan-Apr/2018, 13 episodes), and 3rd (Jul-Oct/2018, 13 episodes) seasons.
In this 4th season, the war with the human side, which began in earnest in the latter half of the 3rd season, was further depicted.
The story depicts the human side divided into two sides, fighting and submitting, in a serious and sometimes cynical manner, in the face of the overwhelming power of the magical powers, and the viewer can enjoy the beautiful visuals, especially the thrilling scene towards the end when the princess in the kingdom gives up on the human side.
Production MADHOUSE, director Ito Naoyuki, screenplay/composition Sugawara Yukie, and the voice casts of Hino Satoshi, Uesaka Sumire, Hara Yumi, Kato Emiri, Uchiyama Yumi, Kato Masayuki, Miyake Kenta, Chiba Shigeru, Okiayu Ryutaro, Tachibana Shinnosuke, Miyano Mamoru, Kamiya Hiroshi, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Yasuno Kiyono remained the same.
