A new anime starting in Apr/2021.
It is a spin-off anime work of the well-known movie series "Godzilla", but the story line is completely different from the original.
When the director, Atsushi Takahashi (“Blue Exorcist: The Movie”, “Doraemon: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi") and EnJoeToh (science fiction writer, who took over "The Empire of Corpses" written by Keikaku Itō) teamed up to write the composition and script, I expected story to be bold and hard for sure.
The story is based on a different axis from the original work, which is more of an entertainment action film, in which Godzilla and other monsters are hunted down through academic research into their origins and reasons for survival.
Therefore, it is quite theoretical, but it is explained in a way that is easy to understand, and I personally like this genre.
The touch of the art is also unique, as it attempts to combine extremely hand-drawn human characters with extremely 3DCG-esque monsters, which may be liked or disliked by different viewers.
The production is a joint effort between Bones ("My Hero Academia", "Fullmetal Alchemist") and Orange ("Land of the Lustrous", " Beastars"), with voice actors Yume Miyamoto ("SSSS.GRIDMAN”, “Aikatsu Stars!”), Shoya Ishige ("Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains"), Misaki Kuno ("The Seven Deadly Sins", "Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan"), Rie Kugimiya ("Hayate the combat butler”, “Toradora!”), Taro Kiuchi ("Africa no Salaryman"), Wataru Takagi ("Case Closed", "Sword Art Online Alicization"), Ayako Takeuchi, Yōhei Azakami ("Kuromukuro", " Sakura Wars: The Animation"), Jin Urayama ("Rantarou the Ninja Boy"), Kotori Koiwai ("Joshiraku ", "Non Non Biyori” ), Suzumura Kenichi ("Fairy Tail", "Prison School"), Kaho Kōda, Hiromichi Tezuka, Ryōtarō Okiayu ("Sengoku basara", "Toriko"), Runa Onodera, Kenta Miyake, Masako Isobe, Tomoyuki Shimura, and a wide range of voice professionals from full-fledged voice actors to stage actors, dubbing actors, musical actors, and narrators. The list includes professionals from a wide range of fields.
