The title " 86 " indicates the address of the settled area of the people deprived of their humanity. Created by A-1 Pictures (“Sword Art Online”, ”The Seven Deadly Sins”). Director Toshimasa Ishii, this “86” is his directorial debut for TV series. Scripted by Toshiya Ono (“Land of the Lustrous”, “The Promised Neverland”). Not only it achieves the solidly made story, but also excellently succeeds in depicting plot perspective in visual and music. The CG developed by SHIROGUMI (“STAND BY ME DORAEMON”, "Dragon Quest: Your Story") and the music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (“Attack on Titan”, “Aldnoah.Zero”).

There are slight startling depictions such like a deprivation of humanity of a particular ethnic group and a deployment of young people on the front line with tanks of disregarding an armor strength. Those made the anime realistic and heavy and also thought-provoking from the beginning, yet this is a fictitious story.
